Youth Activity Programs

Kildonan UnitingCare offer a range of activity and recreation programs aimed at young people.

Young Artists Group

Kildonan's Young Artists' Group gives young people a chance to learn and showcase different skills in the field of the arts. Consisting of workshops which explore the various mediums of art, the program is aimed at young people between the ages of 12-18 who live in the City of Whittlesea.

Teenage Activity Group

The Teenage Activity Group (tAG) is a fun packed activities program, especially designed for young people and is funded by the YouthLinx program. The program includes activities like GoKarting, Bowling, Swimming and Movies.

The taG program is aimed at young people aged between 11 to 16 years who live in the City of Whittlesea and are in secondary school. The program group meets once a week for 8 weeks during the school term. A holiday program is also held in the first week of school holidays.

Learners Program

Funded through the YouthLinx program, the Kildonan Learner's program is aimed at 16-17 year olds, who live in the City of Whittlesea, and who wish to apply for a Learner's permit.

Consisting of theory and practical driving sessions on a controlled off-street area, the sessions are conducted by qualified instructors in dual controlled vehicles. The program teaches theory covering the road rules, aimed at assisting young people to sit their Vic Roads Learner's Permit test.

Homework Program

A free homework program is conducted each Thursday, after school, at the Lalor Library, aimed at assisting secondary school students with their homework. A tutor is available as part of the program.

The program is a joint project between Kildonan UnitingCare and the Yarra Plenty Regional Library Service.

Northland Youth Centre (NYC)

Kildonan is a member of the NYC partnership, led by City of Darebin, who run a drop in program for young people aged 12 to 25 years.

This is a free service staffed by youth workers from local services who can provide information about programs and activities. NYC is located at the Northland Shopping Centre. For more information contact 9496 1020.

Polyfuze

Kildonan in partnership with the City of Whittlesea Youth Services runs a recreational program for Pacific Islander young people on Wednesdays during school term at the French Street Hall in Lalor.
