Training and Consultancy
Our training and consultancy team deliver a range of comprehensive training packages to a range of industries,
providing the opportunity to influence and change industry practice to address the needs of low income and vulnerable
consumers more effectively.
Kildonan has worked with a range of essential services, primarily Yarra Valley Water, AGL, Origin Energy and telecommunications,
as well as local councils, in applying the Kildonan Model to business practices. The training provided facilitates an environment
where consumers are better understood and do not need to prove they are 'poor enough' to be worthy of assistance.
Kildonan encourages programs and practices for consumers to self identify if they are experiencing difficulties or are disadvantaged.
This training and programs have an early intervention/prevention focus. This enables consumers to self advocate for a fair and reasonable
outcome for their circumstances.
Our Training and Development work has been recognized by the Essential Services Commission and Committee for Melbourne Debt Spiral project.
Kildonan has also received two Prime Ministerial Awards for Excellence in Community Business Partnerships
(Victorian Large Business Category) both in 2002 and 2005 in recognition for the Kildonan hardship model and partnership.
