School Focused Youth Service (SFYS) is a DEECD initiative supporting prevention and early intervention models for vulnerable
young people between 10 – 18 yrs. This includes young people in all Government, Catholic and Independent schools.
SFYS aims to link the schooling community with broader support systems within the region thereby creating strong sustainable
relationships that are meaningful and beneficial for young people.
Kildonan UnitingCare hosts the program for Whittlesea Local Government Area.
The School Focused Youth Service program also facilitates brokerage opportunities for projects between school and agencies.
Individual brokerage is available to assist young people aged 10-18 years, with ‘one off’ needs.
Applications may be made throughout the year by schools or agencies for up to $500 to assist a young person.
