Kildonan is delivering a Bushfire Case Management Service, funded through both the State and Federal Governments,
to the fire affected regions of Kinglake and Whittlesea. As a result, we have employed a team of 20 plus staff,
including counsellors and team leaders. The purpose of the Bushfire Case Management Service is to provide practical
support and supported referrals for individuals and families affected by the fires.
We have taken a holistic response in acknowledging the complexity of the responses to this natural disaster and acknowledge
the impact upon children, young people and their parents as well as individuals. As such, we are providing a range of services
in addition to Bushfire Case Management, including a new initiative called
Youth Rebuild, a support and out reach program for
young people and Financial Counselling
for families and individuals affected and financial literacy and support sessions for groups.
